Sumin Shim

Sumin Shim (she/her) is a first generation immigrant who graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Digital Arts and Sciences. Sumin especially loves illustrating 2D art and designing digitally, and finds meaning in promoting mental health and minority representation through her skills. Her dedication reflects in her past participation of showcasing her work at the Big Sho and Asian Kaleidoscope Month as well as leading short-term fundraiser projects that donated to a To Write Love on Her Arms as a multimedia director. Raised in a family where English was not her native language, she grew to appreciate art as means of problem-solving and communication through different languages, and with the Portrait project, she hopes to continue serving the local community and beyond.
